About ZX Series Coilover

The BC Racing ZX Series is designed specifically for racing and track use. The series feature 3-way adjustable damping with 20 clicks of low speed compression, 12 clicks of high speed compression and 30 clicks of rebound adjustment.

The ZX Series adopts an upright damper design, allowing the possibility of replacing the upper mount. The added volume provided by the external canister combined with ultra high viscosity index racing shock fluid mean the ZX Series can maintain outstanding performance on the track and in drifting competitions for extended periods.

This is the kit we recommend for the best balance of performance and comfort, designed by the factory to have the best overall compromise of spring rate, ride height range, top mount design and damping rate to suit the majority of car owners.

It is more than capable of dealing with fast road and track work but also retains a high degree ride civility so the car can still be used for mundane duties and long journeys without the ride becoming tiring.

Noise Transmission

We have had a small number of instances where the pillowball top mounts cause noise transmission on this specific application. If the potential noise could be an issue for you, we advise purchasing the ‘recommended kit’ at the top of this page instead. The recommended BR-RN kit will not come with any top mounts as it is designed specifically to re-use the OEM top mount components.

We have had a small number of instances where the pillowball top mounts cause noise transmission on this specific application. If the potential noise could be an issue for you, we advise purchasing the ‘recommended kit’ at the top of this page instead. The recommended BR-RS kit will come with non camber adjustable rubber top mounts which will eradicate the issue.

In a very small number of applications the RA front solid pillowball suspension top mounts can transmit noise into the cabin. It is very rare and is application specific. Customer can expect noise transmission on this application. The noise is not indicative of a fault with the product, its the nature of a solid pillowball top mount and the nuances of a very small number of car shells that combine to generate noise transmission. The noise is in the form of light knocking. As noise transmission is a function of the pillowball and shell combination and you accept that noise might be present we will not accept returns of any of these kits as faulty due noise transmission. This does not effect the kits general warranty, only that pillowball noise transmission is not a warranty issue. We will not accept kit returns due to noise transmission.

The RM, HM and ZR Series are comprised of a damper cartridge secured within a threaded outer body. This specific design requires a lubricating grease to be applied during the assembly process between the two damper and threaded body to avoid metal to metal contact. In order to keep the two components from touching each other and so generating noise transmission you will need to periodically clean out the old grease and apply new grease.

This is a simple process that can be done with just a few common tools. It does not require you to open the internals of the dampers themselves and therefore you do not need to have the dampers re-pressurised after carrying out this procedure. Please contact us on [email protected] for more information and a step-by-step guide on how to complete this maintenance.

As a result of this required maintenance, we do not recommend the RM, HM or ZR Series for road use over the BR Series or ER Series.
