Oulton Park
This week we paid a visit to Oulton Park for a test day and the first time running our newest addition to the fleet - a Ferrari 488 Challenge. This thoroughbred racecar boasts 670hp produced by a 3.9 litre twin-turbo V8 engine. It’s easily one of the most capable machines we’ve ever had. Alongside it for the day we also had our ever-reliable GR Yaris and one of our Fiesta Junior racecars, looking a bit worse for wear after an eventful race weekend at Anglesey, where it was hit five times over the course of the event, resulting in mismatched replacement body panels, broken mirrors and even a shattered wheel. It was important to ensure the car was back to fighting form after its battering, so this was the perfect opportunity.

Driving coach Alex Fores was on hand throughout the day to work with our development driver Tom Simpson in the Fiesta, as well as providing exciting passenger laps to some of our staff in the Ferrari and Yaris. The Ferrari proved to be as thrilling as you’d expect with phenomenal performance on circuit and astounding grip in the corners. Our GR Yaris remained a fantastic track car, easy to drive and thoroughly capable.

We also made use of the track downtime to get some content of the Ferrari in the pit lane, which you can see here, before a brake pad change was required in advance of the afternoon sessions. Overall, it was another enjoyable and successful test day. We learnt much about the Ferrari and the intricacies of the refuelling, jacking and driving systems. It’s an incredibly impressive car and we look forward to getting it out for more shows and track sessions.
